The Edge Teen Progressions Program is designed for teens with emerging interests in a variety of dance styles. This beginning/intermediate program inspires students to find the joy in movement and provides training to help them achieve their goals. Classes are open to all, whether you are new to dance or you are a performer training between musicals, or you just wish to advance your current dance experience to the pre-professional level. Our instructors will meet you where you are and take you as far as you wish to go in your training!

Dance Technique for Fine Arts Auditions
4:35-5:30 Wednesdays
Pick up and fine tune the basics needed for a fine arts middle school dance audition with our Fine Arts Middle School Audition Prep Class. The course will cover the ballet, jazz, and modern dance skills necessary to succeed in your audition. We’ll do ballet barre work, elements of modern dance in the center, and jazz skills that travel across the floor. This is a great opportunity to prepare yourself and elevate your dancing with the skills needed to succeed at Lamar.
Highly Recommended to Take Open Ballet as well.

Meet Our Instructor
Cherami
Cherami has been a Dance Discovery instructor for 20 years. She trained at the Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. She went to Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond on a full scholarship and received a B.F.A. in dance/choreography. She has danced professionally all over the country. The most recent professional companies she has danced for are Wideman/Davis Dance from New York, Kathy Dunn Hamrick Dance Company & Circuitous Dance from Austin. She is currently the Artistic Director of both Dance Discovery and Delve Dance Collective.

Selena Burgener received her Bachelors of Science in Dance from Texas State University, earning awards in choreography and representing Texas State at the American College Dance Festival. During her college career, she was a member of the University of Texas Roustabouts Dance Company and spent 10 years with M.A. Dance as a dance instructor for camps across the country, and as a judge for M.A. Regional and National Competitions. Selena was a dance instructor at various studios from 2007-2013 including Adagio School of Performing Arts in Ottawa, IL, Metamorphosis Dance Academy, and TexARTS Association in Austin. She became a company member of Metamorphosis Dance Ensemble in 2008 where she met The Dance Project founders, Latisha Coffey and Diana Wang. Selena is now a board member of The Dance Project, and has been a company member since 2013 as a resident dancer and choreographer.
